Design

We can provide our design services when your building is in the design phase, which allows you to plan and budget for the proper infrastructure to be installed during building construction.

Design

One of the most vital steps in DAS deployment is the design. We use iBwave RF Design software, the standard for industry excellence, in our system design.  iBwave solutions are the muscle behind a complete wireless experience. Regardless of size, technology, or complexity, this software allows for smarter planning, design, and deployment.

The Value of Design

In new construction, we recommend that the DAS be designed along with the rest of the building systems. This allows the infrastructure to be planned along with the other systems, and pathways to be installed during the building construction process. We understand that this isn’t always possible, we can still design systems post-construction or for building renovations, our experience will help us to account for obstacles typically encountered in existing structures.

Design Process

Our design process ensures that an efficient, well-balanced system is created to address the unique coverage requirements of each building.  Once we have identified the local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) or Wireless Service Providers (WSP) requirements, we will conduct a review of your building’s construction drawings and prepare an RF DAS design in iBwave.

A design allows you to anticipate potential costs and can later assist in construction. When designing a DAS solution, we consider:

  • Building size, location & composition
  • Frequencies used by First Responders/WSP
  • Donor signal strength & location
  • Calculations containing noise floor, isolation, and link budget
  • State and local building and fire code standards

Some of the basic design features for ERRCS include:

  • Wireless coverage is 95% in main areas and 99% in critical areas
  • Minimum signal strength is -95dB
  • Equipment enclosures are NEMA-4 compliant
  • Battery back-up to last 12-24 hours
